In October 2017, the University of Missouri was added to a list of U.S. approved universities for Indonesian government-sponsored grantees who are funded to pursue masters and doctoral degrees abroad. There are only 55 higher education institutions on this list to host LPDP scholars in the United States. The Indonesian Education Scholarship aims to support high academic-achieving Indonesian citizens who wish to continue graduate studies at top universities around the world. The scholarship seeks to “support the supply of educated and qualified Indonesians [who] possess leadership quality and a strong vision as future leaders of Indonesia.”
