Update: March 6, 2017

Earlier today President Trump issued a revised executive order, effective March 16, 2017. This order imposes a 90-day moratorium on entry to the United States by individuals from six countries (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen). The order also suspends refugee entries for 120 days.

Jan. 30, 2017

On Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, President Trump issued an executive order that restricts entry into the United States for 90 days for individuals from seven countries: Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

We continue to analyze the executive order and its impact on our students, faculty, scholars, employees and other community members. At this time, we recommend that MU community members from these seven countries who hold a visa to enter the United States or who are lawful permanent residents do not travel outside of the United States.

We understand that many in our campus community — including permanent residents, nonimmigrant students and visiting scholars and their families — have questions about this executive order. The International Center has scheduled an information session at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in Wrench Auditorium, Memorial Union.

You are valued members of our campus community and we are here to support you. If you are unable to attend the information session or simply want to speak with someone privately, please do not hesitate to contact us either by email or by calling 573-882-6007.
