El Camino de Santiago in photos

These shell signs were posted all along the camino and helped guide us along our journey. The shell and yellow arrow are the official symbols of the camino.


This is the backyard of Casa Grande de Fuentemayor, where we stayed the second night.


We walked from sun up to sundown — this is a picture of the morning fog from on top of the mountain.


This is a house in one of the villages we passed, and here is the “laundry room.” The people in these villages in Northern Spain truly live in peace and simplicity.


This is where we stopped to nap outside an ancient cathedral in one of the villages.

We watched the sunset from a hill near the shelter we were staying at that night.


My feet hurt, but I was feeling very accomplished and happy the entire way! This picture was taken at one of my favorite spots along the camino.
