Czech me out

Filed in Blog, Czech Republic, Italy by on April 1, 2013

I had a trip to Prague planned this weekend for a really long time. I had everything planned perfectly — the train, the flight, getting to my hostel to meet my friends.

Unfortunately, fate had other plans for me that morning. My train was delayed for over an hour and, consequently, I missed my flight.

I have done a lot of traveling this semester, and at this point, I feel pretty confident taking trains and catching planes and everything in between.

Missing my flight made me really upset. It’s never happened before, and it wasn’t even my fault. But it’s a reminder that these things happen, even when everything is perfectly planned, and things might go wrong, things that are completely out of your control. But I made it through (with the help of a couple of ladies at the airport), and got to Prague, which is a lovely city you should visit.

My conclusion: Things are going to go wrong, things that are completely out of your control. And then you’ll deal with it, and it will be OK. You’ll still get to Prague. And you’ll be stronger for it, and next time it happens, it won’t seem so bad. And you’ll realize that you can do it on your own, without your parents or your best friend or your older sibling. And that’s a pretty awesome feeling.

Here are some pics of Prague!
